[Onyado Nono Sakaiminato] The 1st Store! Natural Hot Spring Sauna & Seafood Buffet Review
サ旅
Welcome to “Sauna and Miles”. It’s that time of the year again for my JGC Premier mileage run (JAL Status Run)! For this new series, I’m starting a journey to visit every single “Onyado Nono” hotel in Japan.
The first memorable stop is “Onyado Nono Sakaiminato” in Tottori Prefecture. Normally, flying into Yonago Kitaro Airport is the standard route. However, due to my severe “Oneworld-only” condition, I took a detour flight to Izumo Airport just to earn JAL miles, and made my way to Sakaiminato by land.
In this post, I will thoroughly review the objective data you need to know before staying, including the sauna specs and the famous breakfast buffet!
Here is the basic data for the facility. It is highly accessible from Yonago Airport.
Facility Name: Onyado Nono Sakaiminato
Date of Stay: March 4 – 5, 2026
Location & Access: 1-minute walk from JR Sakaiminato Station / Approx. 25 mins by bus from Yonago Airport
Check-in / Check-out: 15:00 / 11:00
Neighborhood: Few restaurants open late on weekdays. There is a local supermarket (Marugo) and a convenience store about a 5-minute walk away, on the opposite side of the station.
Room & Facilities (Japanese Tatami Experience)
The entire building features tatami flooring, allowing you to take off your shoes and relax in a traditional Japanese atmosphere.
Room Type: Standard Double
Comfort: Compact but highly functional. The bed is comfortable enough for a good night’s rest.
Loungewear: “Samue” (Japanese-style loungewear) is provided. It is very comfortable to wear around the hotel.
Welcome Service: Apple jelly and bottled water in the fridge.
Multilingual Support: Signs inside the hotel are written in English, Korean, and Simplified Chinese.
Sauna & Hot Spring (Natural Hot Spring: Yunagi no Yu)
Located on the top floor, the natural hot spring offers a great view of Mount Daisen. The water is clear and colorless.
Sauna Temperature: 94℃ (Crisp and dry setting). Pleasant scent of original “Energy Bouquet” aroma.
Cold Bath: 16℃. Perfectly located right in front of the sauna room.
Relaxation Space: 2 indoor chairs / 3 outdoor chairs. A pleasant breeze flows through the outdoor bath area.
BGM: None (TV available inside the sauna, showing NHK).
⚠️ IMPORTANT: Tattoo Policy:Tattoos are strictly prohibited. (Please be careful if you are an inbound traveler, as they are very strict about this rule.)
You can check the crowd levels of the public bath on the TV in your room.
Free Services (Omotenashi)
As part of the Dormy Inn / Onyado Nono group, the free services are excellent.
Post-Bath Ice Cream (Night): 5 flavors available (Vanilla, Monaka, Original Soda, etc.)
Probiotic Drink (Morning): Available after your morning bath.
Yonaki Soba (Late-night Ramen): Free soy sauce ramen served with a boiled egg. It gets very crowded around 22:40, so I recommend shifting your sauna time to avoid the long line.
Outstanding! Seafood Breakfast Buffet
I booked a plan that included both dinner and breakfast. While they offer a variety of dishes, the highlight is definitely the morning seafood buffet.
Local Specialty: Custom-made Seafood Rice Bowl (Kaisen-don)
Seafood Lineup: Salmon roe (Ikura), Crab, Tuna, Fatty Salmon, Sakura Shrimp. (The all-you-can-eat Ikura is the absolute best part!)
Side Dishes: 8 different small bowls, plus various Western options like bread.
Dessert: Great selection of sweets and fresh fruits.
Don’t miss the overwhelming visual of the all-you-can-eat Ikura in my video!
Travel Cost Summary (1 Night 2 Days)
Here is the real cost breakdown of my sauna trip (Haneda – Izumo route).
Transportation (Flight + Local Bus/Train): Approx. 36,000 JPY
Accommodation (Nono Sakaiminato with 2 meals + Drinks): 16,000 JPY
Sauna & Dining (Including other facilities): 7,070 JPY
Souvenirs (Including local food from Marugo supermarket): 3,197 JPY
Total: 61,383 JPY
Thanks to the free services and rich breakfast at Onyado Nono, local food expenses were kept very low.
For international travelers, booking your stay in advance through platforms like Booking.com or Agoda often offers the best rates and easiest management. Check the availability for Onyado Nono Sakaiminato below!
[Teaser for Next Post] By the way, along the route from Izumo to Sakaiminato, I also visited two other famous local saunas: “Good Bless Garden” and “Day Trip Hot Spring Ocean” in Yonago! I will post full reviews of those saunas in separate articles soon. Stay tuned!
